  • Shopping Lists are only the beginning...

I have tried to find something that works better for a shopping list that bothmy wife and I can update but keep coming back to OneNote, having moved it from Apple’s Note which is not so good IMHO. I think that there are a few things that Microsoft could do better but it is FREE and I suppose that if they added more features why would people need Word, Excel, etc which can also be cloud-based and shared across users via OneDrive. A small niggle of mine is how they have changed the weight of the tick in the tick-box so it is less visible and this can’t be changed AFAIK. For the moment this is the way we do our shopping lists and it works fine. Better than, say, Wunderlist (also owned by Microsoft now) which I also use and is great, but not for big lists that I need to amend and edit and re-use.
  • It’s Microsoft

This product reminds me of why I went over to Mac. It’s a really good app in terms of use, flexibility, features. Great for storring simple information all the way to having the ability to draw, capture images and a whole lot of other things. For that i would rate it 5 stars. I have given it a two star rating because the developers seemd to be incapable of fixing basic syncing issues that freeze the program & cause conflicts that make the app a frustrating experience more often than a delightful experience. How hard is it? Dropbox, Evernote etc seem to be on top of these sort of challenges. Why can’t MS sort this out? The Mac version is nobbled as well and does not do many of the great things the PC version can do. Does MS think I’m going to shift to a PC? Seriously, this is not looking after your customers, this is treating them like second rate citizens.
  • excellent productivity tool

I have been using one note for 4 years while studying at university and continue to use it for work since. I have used it across PC, windows laptop, iOS and now Mac and all of my work has seamlessly followed me across all of these platforms. I am yet to have any problems with syncing or glitches It is by far the best way I have come across to organise important information. My favourite aspect is the free form each page can take, from text heavy documents, annotated pdf documents, photos, handwriting with a stylus and more. I have a mix of notebooks for work, study and personal use and can pick which notebooks are on which devices and access them from anywhere via one drive.
