  • Don’t like the update

The new Snapchat update is very strange and it’s so confusing, and because of that I rarely use it. But since the new update, my phone has been turning off when it is on 60%. When my phone is on 60% and I’m not on Snapchat it’s fine and the battery charge goes down normally when I use it, but every time I go on Snapchat when the percentage of my battery is 60 or lower it lags and shuts off and it takes about 5-10 minutes in order to turn it back on, but by plugging it on charge it turns on instantly. But the funny part is my phone turned off at 60% or lower so you think when it turns back on it is the same percentage as it was before... NOPE. It is 10% and needs to be put on charge. But also the most strangest thing that I’ve encountered is that if I turn the phone back off, wait for a couple of seconds and turn it back on, it is back to the original percentage before it shut off in the first place. This has never happened to the phone since the Snapchat update. Yes my phone may be a bit older because it is a 6 and it has been passed down to me but I’ve had it since Christmas and it has never shut off when I’ve been on Snapchat but it is now since the new update, this only happens when I’m on Snapchat and no other app. So maybe Snapchat you need to figure that one out or I might have to delete the app because I’m very disappointed.

i genuinely love the app and use it on a daily basis , but the other day it recently updated and it changed the whole way snapchat was. it is now very confusing and frustrating to use the app. it is annoying and confusing how you have to view people’s stories and that you can only see verified and famous people’s story’s where you’d normally see all the stories and it’s annoying how it comes up with the snapchat articles all through other people’s stories. what is also another issue when viewing people’s story that are on the other page is that you have to tap to see the story everytime a new persons story comes up. The snaps you have sent and received jump up and down and make it all over the place, you may have sent a message two seconds ago but will jump down to the bottom of all your unopened snaps, or if you open one then the name disappears and you have to scroll to the bottom. I’m starting to slowly not use snapchat as the new update has really changed it for the worst. It needs to be fixed or at least have an option of which version your would like to use as the older version was a lot easier to use as i’m sure a lot of people would agree.

As a long-time snapchat user, I’m quite disappointed with this new update. Prior to this update, I’ve always enjoyed the simplicity of snapchat’s previous layout. More specifically, I enjoyed the simple layout of the 3 main pages: One for personal snaps, camera, and most importantly, the stories page. I, and along with many other Snapchat users enjoyed being able to swipe to the stories page to view OUR FRIENDS stories. It was simple and allowed us to see all of what we have shared. But now all of a sudden Snapchat has decided to merge the stories page with the personal snaps, making it more and more confusing. Stories are now everywhere all of a sudden and it has become very difficult keeping track of what stories we actually want to see (I myself do not care for the stupid public or celebrity stories). This update served no benefit whatsoever in improving the already perfect app. Snapchat’s previous layout had no issue at all, it was simple and enjoyable, and on behalf of millions of users, I ask that the old layout is brought back. Like many others, I’m considering in leaving Snapchat in favour of Instagram’s similarly simple layout. I ask that something is done about this as I am confident that I am not the only user who is very disappointed in this update and It would be much appreciated if Snapchat returned to the way it was.
