Watched this last year on my 9.7” Samsung Tablet and was disgusted that it only took up half the screen if that to view but this year with the new iPad Pro 12.9” it is even worse. If as they say it is broadcast in 16.9” screen ratio then it’s about time they all got their act together in this day and age and also catered for mobile phone, tablets and iPad users so that we can watch it on full screen on all devices. This is living in the dark ages. I bet if you pay the yearly subscription it is a different story and you get full screen but seeing it is free if you have a Telstra mobile account they drop your screen size. Anyway, it is so small it is not worth having. Last year AFL were blaming Telstra and Telstra we’re blaming AFL for the reduced screen size. To me that is passing the buck and I think they are just to lazy to work on adjusting the picture size. At least give us the option of adjusting the screen ourselves.
  • Great app but product can be improved

Really love the functionality of the AFL app but there’s a few things I’d like to see improved upon, which would make it a much better overall product. - the restricted screen size on an iPad or any alternative tablet is very frustrating. The stats component is terrific but I want to watch the game in full size screen, which is why I get more use out of watching games via a Foxtel Now subscription. This needs to be fixed. - love the data-free Live Pass available for all Telstra customers with enhanced and premium in-game stats, as well as the StatsPro component. Just brilliant. Although I want to see the AFL Player Ratings built into the app as well, because currently you can only access it via the website. - the AFL product is constantly compared with the NFL Game Pass and how successful that is in the US. A app for Apple TV (which many people do have) needs to be developed so you can watch and access live games to TVs across the country. Big opportunities to enhance and get more subscribers and downloads of the AFL app with the improvements I’ve mentioned. I’ll be watching for future updates with great interest.
  • Second rate app

Low quality video stream, picture quality looks like something from the 80's or a vhs tape or something, doesn't work with iPad multitasking, no pause button, stream stops completely as soon as you try and do basically anything on ipad like adjust screen brightness, no quality control on screen so it's always adjusting up and down and doesn't seem to prebuffer or load so the stream stops playing all together often which means you're restarting the stream a lot. Basically guys you need to look at other market leading sports streaming apps and set your bar a bit higher than amateur hour. Update 2018: astoundingly this app has gotten even worse. They force you to update before even opening it, and the full screen options now screw things up.
