  • Spaghetti Crab POP up restaurant

Situated in O’Connell Street, Adelaide this pop up restaurant was to end after 6 weeks but has extended for another 4 weeks. Serving one dish only, spaghetti with crabs - it is a lot of fun. The waitress was effervescent from the outset making us feel really comfortable, even though the stools could have been better. There were 11 of us so we had a room out the back, bibs were supplied. It was BYO ($12) so nice reds were opened and when we were ready the meal rolled up. Lots of spaghetti and plenty of crabs. Because it is out of season for local crabs these were caught in deeper water and lost a little in flavour and they certainly weren’t full. ‘Crackers’ for the crabs were supplied, bowls to wash your fingers, plenty of serviettes so it was roll up your sleeves and into it. If you want dessert it comes as an Cornetto ice cream for $2.50, a novel idea. Take home packs were provided for the pasta left over. The night could have been better if the 3 large plates of pasta and crabs had come out as 2 serves and and then 1, so the food stayed hotter, and I am sure that can be done. A fun night and highly recommend if you have a spare night in the next 4 weeks.
  • Spicy Indian Treat in Tamworth

I have been an aficionado of Indian cuisine for the past 32 years and it is with no hesitation that I say this is the best Indian restaurant I have been to in Australia. Every meal I have tried has Ben bursting with flavour some subtle some steamrolling but all revealing a myriad of flavours in every bite. I can’t tell you how shocked I was - please don’t be put off by the signage which is reminiscent of a gaudy franchise operation or the location - snuggled between a now defunct cafe and pizza store on one side, and a butcher on the other on busy Goonoo Goonoo Road , this place is a treasure. For three nights in a row I went back to sample it’s food. From the perfectly constructed and delicately herbed samosas through to the rough to a rich and wonderfully balanced Beef Vindaloo. The menu is chockas with delights. I went back three nights in a row ... I simply couldn’t get enough. For those with milder taste the Ceylon fish curry or the coconut chicken curry will do the trick. This place deserves your patronage, you will not be disappointed.

We arrived straight from the airport early in the morning and proceeded to Meriton suites in Campbell street, Sydney. We were greeted with lovely welcoming smiles by the staff st the front desk. Our intention was to have our luggage stored till check in. We were asked politely if we could wait a moment on the comfortable couches in the foyer and to our delight, Siebert came up to us confirming that our rooms were ready and he could take us up to them straight away. This was 10:30am!!! We also had specific needs for one of our guests and all our needs were attended to with ease and nothing seemed to be a problem. Our rooms were stylish, comfortable, spacious and practical. You could stay here for a week and feel like you were at home away from home. The apartments are close to paddy’s markets and Darling Habour and the walk to circular quay is about 30-40mins. I would happily stay here again in the future.
